The Nordic Nook will host a Scandinavian Jewelry Trunk Show on May 17th & 18th, 2008 in conjunction with Stoughton's annual Syttende Mai celebration. The show will feature Scandinavian jewelry from Liv Eggen Benschine, a native of Norway, and an importer for the Nordic Nook. A wide selection of jewelry will be presented at a special discount. Click here to learn more about types of Scandinavian jewelry. In the early 1980's Liv Benschine began a business that provided her with an avenue to share her passion for Scandinavian culture. The concept for her business began during a trip to Norway where she visited an old friend and past employer, Uni David-Anderson, a fourth generation descendant of the legendary David-Anderson jewelry designer. During this visit Uni suggested that she start selling her jewelry in the United States. The business began with 16 pieces of bronze jewelry, first displayed at a festival in Westbury Gardens, New York. The positive response to the Scandinavian jewelry was the inspiration and confirmation to take the business to the next level, offering jewelry to retail stores.
You are invited to come and meet Liv at the Nordic Nook on the Saturday and Sunday of Syttende Mai. The Nordic Nook is located at 176 W. Main Street in downtown Stoughton. Directions can be found at www.nordic-nook.com. |
