Norwegian Bunad-Making Classes Discontinued
We regret to announce that the Norwegian Bunad-making classes taught by Arlene Kong at the Nordic Nook the past two years have been discontinued.
Unfortunately, due to policy changes in Norway, we are no longer able to import bunad kits from Norway. If you are interested in obtaining an authentic
Norwegian bunad, feel free to contact the store toll-free at 1-866-912-6665 and we'll be happy to assist you.
Bunad blouses and jewelry to accessorize your bunad continue to be available at the Nordic Nook.
What is a bunad? A bunad is a Norwegian Folk Costume
which is typically worn for special occasions such as weddings and other gala events. Each bunad has a unique embroidery
pattern which is associated with a specific region or city in Norway. The patterns for the Gudbransdal and Telemark
women's bunads are shown in the photo at right.
